I thought positively of this place until I learned that one of their cookie dough + recipe is stolen from another local business. My friend’s local business. He was caught taking pictures of her recipe book, and he’s stolen her baking equipment and will not let her have it back. Do better owner of Morat's. AND TREAT YOUR STAFF BETTER. PLEASE. ***happily editing this to address the defamation comment*** Defamation of character is spoken words that are untrue. A false statement being passed off as a fact to destroy a person’s character. However, nothing I said in my review is incorrect. I’m sure you do have a family recipe! You’ve got wonderful stuff. But you also have my friend’s recipe that you were SEEN stealing. Fact: You’ve got my friend’s baking equipment and will not return it to her. Am I wrong there? I am not. If we came to your shop today we’d see her equipment in your kitchen. Fact: You were SEEN stealing the cookie dough out of someone’s car. People saw you do it! Fact: You were SEEN taking photos of my friend’s whole recipe book. If we checked your phone, computer, or any hard drives you have, we’d find pictures of her recipe book. Fact: You treat your employees like GARBAGE and it’s so disgusting. I’m sure we could ask your employees, past and present, about how you treat them and confirm that too. Not to mention the countless customers who’ve witnessed the way you treat your staff. **edit + with new accurate, documented information** Actually, let’s hear about your family recipes. The ones that AREN’T frozen pre-ordered breads and pastries that you flip and pass off as your own.** *UPDATE: most, but not all of the baking equipment was returned. When picked up, Carollee was outside with her phone and taunting with sarcastic gestures (which is documented on camera). Multiple customers and former employees came forward on the post made by The Doughnut Experience about what happened. The post is on social media if you'd like to read it over. All spoke of the disgusting mistreatment, disgusting work conditions, lying, deceitful behavior of these business owners, and goods they pass off as their own. *Reminder, please review the definition of defamation I provided above. Nothing stated here is inaccurate. A lot of it is documented via screenshots, videos, and photos.*
The donuts here are phenomenal, some days they sell out completely before you can even make it there. Even the donut holes are above average. I thought I could save some to eat for the next day and I kept going back for more until they were gone! They also have cookies, muffins, loaves of bread, rolls, and other bakery items. They even had some gluten free items the last time I was there. They have an area with a bunch of neat things you can buy, all local vendors I assume. And then on the other side they have a room that you can sit and enjoy your food and drink. There aren't a ton of seats for that, but I think most people don't stick around anyway. It's a busy place - whenever I go, it's a constant stream of customers in and out of the door. The customer service was just okay, to be honest. Wow! Been a few times (only returned for the breakfast sandwich that’s so good) but the owner just stands and glares at customers. Doesn’t speak or anything. It’s the most uncomfortable feeling. Today I witnessed him treat his employees like absolute trash and it was gross. No wonder this guy’s bakery couldn’t stay open due to staffing … can’t keep staff treating them like trash. Bad business.
Morats bakery, was like a small slice of heaven. Biggest cinnamon rolls I've ever seen. The spinach savory pastry was my favorite. We even got freshly baked dog treats for Chewy.

🤤🤤🤤🍩 HANDS DOWN THE BEST!!! Drop the microphone 🎙.... After Reading an article about the best donut around, the wife and I decided to go there and try it. I ordered the Apple Fritter 🍎 and have never had some thing so fluffy and flavorful. I almost passed out 😵 when I noticed the BIG CHUNKS OF APPLES 🍏 in the fritter. It seems like nobody does that anymore. We both decided to share each other’s.... and the chocolate 🍫 On top of the Long John was truly AMAZING 🤩 along with the creamy filling. Moving forward it will only be Morats Bakery 🥯 in our future.

Now open at 820 Terrace and they have the good stuff! Breads, donuts, pastries, strudel, as well as coffee, an oat mill and places to sit. Another bonus for us downtown residents: they have a cooler with some staples like milk, eggs, OJ and butter.
