We had out company Christmas party upstairs. The waitstaff was attentive and polite. We had a party of roughly 30-40 people. Our food was hit and cooked properly. I had a steak and it was properly cooked and very tender. Upstairs there was a bit loud, however the ambient noise from downstairs combined with 30 odd some sales people was likely the larger factor. Was exactly what we wanted. The jalapeños poppers were delicious. The pizza cooked perfect. And the pineapple pulled Port hit the spot. We drank and ate and had the best time. This place was amazing. The food was fantastic and the staff was so personable and welcoming! The tree inside and the overall atmosphere is really unique. It is in uptown Normal so you can visit the nearby shops beforehand or just take a nice walk stroll after dinner. Highly recommend! For starters.... The history of the making of this restaurant is fascinating! Beautiful woodwork throughout the interior! I had Tammy as a server...Fantastic! She recommended the beef stroganoff, which did not disappoint me at all! It has a combination of rich buttermilk and smooth sour cream for the base, smothering tender cuts of beef and chunks of mushrooms on a bed of egg noodles to combine a delicious flavorful dish! Complimented by the garlic toast, of course! The espresso was rich and full flavor! 😋 This place is sure to meet your expectations! Mediocre would be a better name from the stale fries to the pulled pork that was dry and tough to the cracked plates. Nothing served could be considered "good" if you want a fried chicken sandwich go to Chick-fil-A. Casey's gas station pizza had better depth of flavor then whatever we were served.
