We enjoyed our dinner here and the drink selection was great too. Food was cooked well and dishes were very filling. Pretty strong value for the quality of food we got. Service was good and food came out quick. Please plate the side salads on a bigger plate. It’s impossible to mix the dressing with a tiny side plate! Also, pretzel bites are really just buns…I would rename them as this is definitely not like any pretzel ice ever seen. I gave it four stars because of where we were seated with having a reservation . It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and it was very nice. I had made reservations for two and was looking forward to being seated at a comfortable table After a long day at work. We were seated at a small table for two, even though there were quite a few larger empty booths. There were a couple of people (parties of two) sitting at larger booths. When a waitress walked by I asked her if we could move to a Larger table and the waitress sucked her teeth, flailed her hands and was very rude (she acted as if she was annoyed by my request). I went to the front and asked if we could be moved, and the young lady was very nice but she accommodated us to a larger booth next to the bathroom and kitchen. Yes, we were the only people of color in the restaurant in the last booth by the bathroom doors when there were other booths available. My friend asked to move to another booth and she was told “No”we could not move to another booth we had to sit here. We Talked about leaving, but we were tired and hungry. Another couple of color comes, and they are seated right across from us at a little table like a little picnic table ( it wasn’t even a booth and some were open) near the back as well. The only people of color were sitting all the way in the back by the kitchen and by the bathroom, it wasn’t a good feeling. Will I go back again? Not for sure. Why make a reservation and be seated in the back of the restaurant at 5:15 pm ( wasn’t crowded) The young lady that waited on us was very nice and the food was delicious . When we were leaving the restaurant, it was very apparent when we walked from the back of the restaurant to the front; We were the only people of color and we were coming from the back of the “bus” again. Three families met in Carmel (approximately 75 miles) to enjoy weather, ice skate, and share a meal. We all walked from skating rink to Matt Tavern at 2:30 pm. Told the hostess that there were 10 of us. (six professionals along with our children) After being gone a few minutes she returned and said, “Our manager said we can’t take you. We have parties coming later.” There was one couple in the bar area, waitresses sitting/visiting, and a host with hostess enjoying their time together. The restaurant was pretty much EMPTY! No sorry, no suggestion to split up. VERY disappointing!

We went for brunch and had a very good experience, the majority of the food was just OK, but the Biscuits & Gravy as well as the chicken (very well seasoned) were great. The made to order omelets have many options, but the omelets themselves weren't great. The food was good and the wait staff was great! I celebrated my birthday in the Carmel area in May 2023. I met a group of friends there: I had friends come from Illinois, Fort Wayne, Anderson and Ohio. I made reservations for my group in advance, and the area that they sat us in was very nice and private. The entire experience was great. We had tickets to a show at the Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre in Carmel, which is in walking distance from the restaurant. My entire group and I had a great time! Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Loved the food. It was decently priced for excellent burgers. The house salad was also delicious it did have nuts so be aware if you have any allergies. The service was okay. It wasn’t too busy for a weekend lunch day and my drink that I ordered didn’t come out until after we had eaten our meal.
