A week ago

7 oz of meat on a Italian beef makes allegations made by the owner. It was three pieces of meat; never again. I drove 15 mins to get this food. I just asked for some more beef; he states “ you want a double” no I do not I want an Italian beef not bread and three pieces of meat. I’ve been to a lot of places in Racine, this is one you should not go unless you want a piece of meat (they forgot the sweet peppers) and bread. Horrible service and horrible food. I love the food here. I usually get the roast beef bomber or a pizza. I've also had their wings. All of it is very tasty and satisfying. Other restaurants are just so so to Mario's. This is the place for wonderful tasting food. Price per person $10–20

Food is fantastic, drinks are cheap, but service is so so. Never terrible service, but you can tell who the regulars are. Edit 2023: We are those regulars. Gretchen, Tina, Kristen, Jodi, Mario... They're all the best. We are there at least 2-3 times a month. We love sitting there and playing the dice game. Make sure to visit before Christmas. They spend DAYS decorating. It feels like home. We have been going to Mario’s for years. The food is kind of hit or miss, you have to know what to order. The Pizza Bomber is a great sandwich and I have never been disappointed with that, their Saturday night rib special used to be my favorite, I’m sad they got rid of that. Their Italian food is good too. Their prices are fair I will say that, this is mainly the reason we keep coming back. The waitress is kind of abrasive (if you know what I mean) she comes off rude but she can be friendly if you get to know her. If you have a party larger than 4 don’t expect them to move the tables for you. You will be doing the moving. The main reason for my low service rating is because the food took forever. We were there on a Sunday night (after 7pm) there was hardly anyone eating there. Of course the bar was full (hence great atmosphere) but I believe we were one of a few tables occupied. We waited over an hour for 2 burgers, a salad, and an order of stuffed shells. I think these are relatively easy dishes to make and there’s no reason it should have taken that long. There was also a group that came in and got served much quicker than we did, almost like there was some preference there. Put it this way, it will be a while before we come back.
