Interesting restaurant in easy locale. The staff was amazing and strive to please us. Sadly, neither of us loved the pizza. It was ok, but not delicious. Without advising on the Web site they use Door Dash for their delivery. Our delicious pizza was given to the driver at the best time for our requested 3:30 pm delivery. However the Door Dash driver got lost, drove past our place. I called her but she did not speak English. Lou's delivery manager called her and got her to deliver it roughly 10 minutes late, not a huge deal but the pizza was warm not hot. As the driver approached as I stood in the open door, she stopped to do something on her phone. I retrieved the open pizza box from her bag and she turned and left. Didn't even give me a chance to give her a tip for coming out on a very cold day. I will not order delivery from Lou's again, but will continue to visit in person, absolutely delicious pizza. Deep dish was outstanding as usual. So was the lou's salad. Where we live we only have takeout, so we were in the area and took advantage of the sit down restaurant. It wasn't busy on a Tuesday night and service was great. Can't wait to come back! Update: Ordered the cookie to go. Opened it the other night and it's like 4 smaller cookies and not a single large cookie like it used to be. Disappointing. The restaurant is very very nicely laid out and decorated. The service was excellent, I was by myself, so a small table was quickly cleaned so I could be seated. Sean's service was over the top. The best service I have had in YEARS! I am a Giordanos fan and went to a Malnati's years ago and didn't care for it much. Everyone keeps raving about Malnati's, so I thought I'd give it another chance. The food was very delicious. Very delicious. The reason for 4 stars is the menu. I didn't like it that you order a basic pizza and then get charged for any other toppings you want. Overall a very good place to go, maybe not going to be a first choice for me. While Lou Malnatis food is great, there were some complications...... For starters, we ordered two deep dish pizzas ahead of time. We scheduled them for 6 pm. We did not get them until 730, not to mention they were not hot when we got them. They kept mixing up our ordered items with the other family in the private room with us. Now, let's go over the exit. When leaving, there was another gentleman complaining at the front desk that his family also waited at least an hour and a half for a pizza. He, too, felt it was unacceptable. Sounds like they have some staffing or management issues. Good luck, Lou's. Wish we had taken our family, that came in from Texas, to a different pizza place for the chicago pizza experience.
