Bar tender wasn't the nicest.. not sure why either because i tipped 20% of my food order. I asked for change or smaller bills and quarters for the pool table. He got small bills for me and pretty much threw my stack of ones down in front of me. I asked for condiment stuff and he seemed rude about it. Calamari was excellent and burger sucked. Good food, tendies were delicious, crispy and good size, not the soggy mess you may get at other places. The pizza is pretty damn good quality too. The best thing about this amazing tavern is the ice cold beers. Too many places are serving *moderately* cold beer, but this place is giving you frosty deliciousness. Best food I've had on the peninsula! Where it really shines is the atmosphere. Long Beach Tavern is exceptionally pleasant. They mostly played good classic rock with occasional post grunge. I had the Burton burger and can recommend it. Their fries are SO damn good! Not an amazing selection of beer, but they had Fort George IPA so I was happy. Went here for the first time on New Year's Eve to meet friends. Nice atmosphere and a relatively small crowd made for a pleasant place to start the night. I drink simple cocktails, so fairly cheep drinks. They have two pool tables and pull tab gambling. I didn't get anything to eat myself, but what I saw looked like standard tavern fair. The middle aged "server" with brown hair, needs to learn a lesson in professional. I was in on Tuesday evening and I knew it was going to be a bit of a wait. ( It always is) after approximately 8 minutes she finally came and asked for my order with an attitude and I declined. She said "do you know what you want," I said yes but it's not here. Her response was "then you can leave". So I went across the street to Castaways, had an amazing dinner with great cocktails!!! Ended a great evening!!!! Some folks aren't cutt to be in the service industry.

We were there on 2 different nights, and both nights awesome service. First time, we asked the gal how the Cod was. She said, and i quote,' It's fishy.' ....lol The second evening, the young man was great about explaining the beers on tap. The only disappointing part of the evening was my chowder it was too thick, and the creaminess was way over the top. I mentioned it to the server, and he immediately asked if I would like fries or tots to replace the chowder. And took it off the bill.
