Great reviews and it was busy. It obviously is enjoyed by the locals. Maybe my wife and I have been too americanized on what is authentic Mexican food. We had the beef tacos. Nice little family place feel. But mediocre Mexican food, especially if you're coming from San Diego. Red salsa tastes like ketchup. Green salsa is good. Smaller side burritos for $12. The house carrots are yummy. My chicken and rice burrito had about 25% chicken, 75% rice. Overall it's a good place to stop if you need to on your way back to SD. Just don't expect it to wow you. My family and I have been coming to La Cocina for years! It’s always quality food with good service that we can count on. I typically go with the rolled tacos which are great but this most recent trip I got the shrimp burrito which I think is my favorite. It was fresh, filling, and fabulous! The beef flautas are also recommended. I look forward to my next time in Ramona where I can enjoy a meal at La Cocina! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

45 minute wait for takeout nachos only to be told that oops, they gave them to someone else. How? I was seated 2 feet from the counter and nachos were never called out. When confronted they quickly (too quickly) made a new order, but it was luke warm at best. No chance they cooked fresh Carne asada, heated the refried beans and nacho cheese in that short amount of time, definitely scrapped together from other orders. 28 year resident, never again. As a Ramona native, I grew up on La Cocina. They still have the Carne Asada burritos that are all meat, pico, and guac and as big as your forearm. Lupe is a one of a kind and has been a staple of Ramona for years. I'm sad they switched to paper plates recently, but I get it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
