Delicious bowls that make me feel so satisfied and energized. The poke bowl was maybe the highest quality most yummy poke bowl I’ve had, it was perfectly balanced; the rice to fish ratio, the crunch of the veggies and the soft rice and fish.
You can sample their extensive and DELICIOUS kombucha menu, melon rose was my fave.
All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. I had lovely conversation with Ari and Sam (I think??) about language and culture.
Lovely clean bathrooms and a beautiful space with lots of light, high ceilings, and plants.
I love it what can I say! Can’t wait to bring my mom here who is on a low-fat whole food diet. She can’t eat at most restaurants but I saw so many options for her here!!!

Excellent food. I ordered the sesame chicken bowl. Lots of sesame seed and broccoli. The chicken was crisp and very tasty. Love it! I also ordered a ginger lemongrass Kombucha drink. Perfect combination!
We’ve been going to this place for years since 2018 in the mission - and this location is the best one yet.
Perfect for folks who are gluten free and they somehow magically keep all their crispy dishes CRISPY.
Everything here is delicious and makes you feel nourished. The service is chill and the space is modern and airy.
Our favorite thing to order here is the sesame chicken bowl with extra chicken. I recently had the fish and chips and that was incredible and CRISPY.
We’ve eaten here so much over the years and I’m sure we’ve spent greater than $1k in orders. It would be awesome if they had a loyalty program for us regulars who will be eating here for life.

Definitely just made a regular out of me. The food was delicious and beautiful! The place was open and full of natural lights and plants. Beer and Booch on tap. And amazing vegan soft serve that was surprisingly addictive! Can't wait to try everything on the menu!

This is one of my absolute favorite places to come and eat. Beautiful, delicious food every time. Most recently, we had the fall harvest salad and the fish and chips. It was so satisfying, the fish was perfectly crunchy and satisfying, everything fish and chips should be. The sauces are excellently crafted, they really elevate the experience. As an activist, I love that their sourcing is so considerate. I can tell that they are thinking of how to be part of a better food system. Maya and Ari helped us today, and they were radiant and welcoming. Will be back in the next week.We’ll be back next time we eat out!!

Wow. Best bowl I've ever had! Also nicest staff ever...food is so fresh and prepared to order. My new regular lunch spot. They also have a food donation program for the local homeless. Amazing Thank you Kitava for making the neighborhood better for everyone.

The food is tasty, reliably gluten free and nutritious. Im not one to write reviews on restaurants. I usually just don’t go back if I don’t like it. Though I’m writing in the hopes it could provide impetus for change because I really like Kitava and there’s are few places I can eat with peace of mind because of allergies. However, the last two bowls I ordered with the barbacoa beef, I have been extremely disappointed with the miserly quantity of meat. I’d like to know from the owners: what is your standard weight of meat given with each add on? I paid +8.00 to add meat and have received roughly 2.00 ounces or less of meat on my last two orders. Felt like a slap in the face when I opened my bowl and dug through the veggies thinking there was no way the only meat they gave me I ate in my first two bites. Very stingy and disproportionate— such a small amount for such large price. If this doesn’t change, I will not be coming back. Generous with the veggies, but as someone who lifts weights I need more protein than literally two bites of meat. Minimum should be 4.00 oz meat for an +8.00 add on. Current rate for meat is charging $32.00/lb which is ridiculous. I appreciate the overhead cost of busying quality food— but this is not appropriate pricing this is just greedy. I paid $20 for a beef bowl. I just ate it and am still hungry— only full of rice and veggies. Prices are not just expensive but worth it, price is ludicrous for what is given. Would love to hear from owner what is their standard quantity is for meat provided with each meal? Price either needs to be adjusted down so can add on double meat without spending $30 for a decent meal, or need to change to an appropriate amount of for the current charge. I will weigh out meat and take a picture next time to show what I mean. Please consider the feedback from a previously loyal customer, thank you.

Only been a couple times but everyone is always very kind and patient. I love that they have vegan options and the portions are good. Every bowl is the bomb! I swear. My only complaint is their wines are a bit pricey but the experience of being here is all worth it.
Also, they have wifi! Literally still in the restaurant as I’m typing because it’s so good I had to share lol.
Will be trying their non dairy ice cream soon but Im sure its delicious due to it being a cashew base. Definitely making this a new spot for me soon. (:

I live in the neighborhood, literally on the block. I started coming when they opened and it was a great place. But after month the prices went up 2 dollars on the entire menu. Just went again recently and now, sauces that used to come with side are now a dollar. Drink also. Now you can’t get a a meal here without spending 30 for salad with protein and drink. Seriously? Plus they’ve cut the ingredients down and removed items altogether. Now going I just feel rapped after I’ve eaten here. It’s not I can’t afford it, it’s the principle of the situation. What happened to all this solidarity and community? I guess everything has a price to bad the soul of Oakland’s “Community Solidarity“ sold its soul for the dollar.
