I had two fantastic lunch meals at J. Wilson's. I would have had three except for a morning meeting that ran over. I was in Lawrence for a three day meeting and J. Wilson's was recommended by a Google search as a restaurant I might enjoy. Right on target! My server was very attentive and friendly. The general manager was equally so and both kindly recognized me on my return visit. The food options are very creative. I had the baked spaghetti squash on my first visit and the rigatoni on my second. Both are highly recommended! The house salad I had was incredible as well - marinated tomatoes and a truly inventive and delicious spicy vanilla vinaigrette - I've never heard of such before! I planned dessert as a take home option on the third (sadly missed) visit. I'll definitely return if I'm in the area again. Made a reservation for Valentine's Day almost 3 weeks ahead. Got there and they wanted to seat us at a hightop table. We said no because it would cut the circulation off to my wife's legs. The manager never said a word but the hostess said there was nothing they could do so we left. We drove 45 minutes one way to get there. Completely ruined our evening. Will never go back.

Tables are tight and only designed for very skinny people!!! Service was mediocre waiter only refilled my tea once. The portion of food based on the price is very.... rip-off... food was good just not worth the cost to eat there! Small portions.
