It's About Thyme in Culpeper is a hidden gem that offers an exquisite dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you are welcomed with a sense of warmth and hospitality that you can't find anywhere else. The menu features European-inspired dishes that are cooked to perfection and served with great pride. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff are attentive and patient to answer questions. The homemade onion soup with rosemary focaccia bread and open faced ham sandwich with potato skins are must-tries. For dessert, the warm focaccia and tiramisu are divine. Prices are reasonable for the quality of food. Whether it's for a special occasion or just a casual lunch, It's About Thyme is definitely worth a visit.

Amazing every time I go. The owner is cool and personable as well. The portion sizes are very generous , food is fresh, and the decore is exactly what you’d expect in old town Culpeper. Keep it up ! Update March 2024: food and service is still amazing! We got 4 different things and have no complaints at all on the flavors. However, the portion sizes on 2 dishes were very small, (I left the restaurant hungry, and it really doesn’t take a lot to fill me up). Our favorite dish was sold out too, but that’s not a big deal. Also, lunch was nearly $160 for three people due to all the charges that are tacked on. We understand rising prices, but a $7 “city tax” and a 3% service charge is kinda exorbitant. I’d probably make these clearer from the beginning, but it may reflect lower tips for the waiters. If the accumulative 3% service charges in a day all go to the waiters, then lower tips may be ok. But wow. Wasn’t expecting a $200 afternoon, (paying for gas as well to get there). First world problems haha.
We took advantage of the winter dine and stay plan with friends. From the moment we arrived, to our departure the following day, Connie was kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, the heat was not functioning in the Thyme room, so we were moved to Sage, which was very nice and cozy. I loved the bathroom; it was so pretty and spacious. Toiletries and robes were provided. They even had a Keuring in the hallway, which was a nice touch for us coffee lovers. The winter deal included a full meal (appetizer, main course, and dessert) for two. No limitations on the menu and everything was outstanding. What a fun mini getaway!

Delicious food with generous portions. Serving staff was excellent and very responsive to customer needs. If you don't see it on the menu, ask, as they made me a sandwich that wasn't offered. We will definitely be back again.

We recently attended a dinner as part of a group of eight individuals. Unfortunately, the entire experience turned out to be quite dreadful. Right from the moment we sat down, things started going downhill. Our server took our drink and food orders, but then proceeded to abandon us for what felt like an eternity. We patiently waited for over an hour and a half, desperately trying to catch the attention of our server in order to order a second round of drinks. However, he seemed more interested in engaging with guests at another table, leaving us feeling neglected. To make matters worse, when our food finally arrived, it was served in a staggered manner, with the last person receiving their meal a staggering twenty-five minutes after the rest of the party. Shockingly, out of the eight meals ordered, six were served ice cold, while the remaining two were sent back to the kitchen three times each. By that point, we had lost all desire to consume those particular meals. Both the server and the manager apologized profusely, acknowledging their failure in providing satisfactory service. Despite our repeated requests to speak with the owner, we were informed that he was too occupied to address our concerns. In summary, the quality of the food and the level of customer service we experienced were far below acceptable standards. We strongly advise anyone considering dining at this establishment to think twice before doing so.
Restaurant in Culpeper, it's not a hotel! Excellent food, very attentive wait staff. A bit pricey, but worth it. Street parking.
It's About Thyme in Culpeper double booked their lodging that was supposed to be so highly rated, completely their fault. We’ve had this booked for over a month and they sent us an email tonight, not even a phone call. It’s our anniversary weekend and we are left with no lodging reservation and two dinner reservations shot. Their response was nothing. No dinner comp, nothing, but a snippy attitude. Obviously customer service isn’t their strong suit either. I used to recommend them; never again.

We ate dinner at the restaurant, not sure how to change this to a food review rather than a hotel review. This is a small town fine dining experience and we were there for our anniversary. Wonderful staff and food was delicious. I tried the duck breast and my wife had the open face ham sandwich, and shared a slice of white chocolate raspberry cheesecake for dessert. Highly recommend this for any special occasion.

Extraordinary! The service is exceptional. The restaurant is fabulous and the rooms are absolutely lovely. The downtown area is quaint in such a pleasant way. We were in town for a very small, intimate wedding and the wedding party had the reception dinner at It's About Thyme. My husband and I stayed in one of their rooms and are so happy we did. It was a wonderful experience!
