The food is ok. DO NOT waste your money on the plantains. They do not prepare them properly. They are ALWAYS dry and not sweet. No flavor at all.

It’s hard to find healthy food in North County. HOJ is the only place I go for a good hearty healthy meal. Their menu is great and full of authentic foods. Plus the service is amazing really friendly staff Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

3 stars for the food, because it USED to be spicy (the egusi), but now, even when I order the super spicy, it's just like eating something mild. Theres almost no heat to it. Authentic West African cuisine, I loved it all especially the fried plantain. My only thing is the oxtails could’ve been cooked just a little longer, just to make them tender otherwise, everything was great, but It was a little expensive.
