I had Potato Skin's and omg they're 🔥. I'm eating leftovers for brunch. The picture doesn't do it justice. Looked better freshly made. My roommate had the Chicken Caesar Salad with pita chips on the side and it was delicious. It's very nice inside. Clean and charming. I had a turkey bacon sandwich with a cup of clam chowder on the side. Turkey sandwich was good, but the clam chowder was awful. Very salty, and way too much bacon. I told my server, he apologized, but that was it. That's why he got 3 stars because otherwise he was a good server. Probably won't go back. This was our first time to the restaurant and it will now be our regular spot when visiting ocean shores. The people were so nice and accommodating, and the food was delicious! I had the cod and fries, my husband had the smash cheeseburger, and our 5 your old got her Mac and cheese. She didn't like the fruit, so they brought her fries. Best service in a long time! We had a good dinner in the bar. The bartender was working her butt off to make sure everything was going smoothly. The food was great, as usual. They have been short staffed for years now, but somehow make it through. We had a great meal at the Home Port! The food and service were excellent. We dined in the lounge and got to enjoy time with the friendly staff and locals. The crab cakes are generous and excellent quality. The steamed clams were the best I’ve had in a long time. My husband couldn’t say enough about the clam chowder and prime rib entree. We had the razor clam chowder. It was delicious but with too much begin for my taste, although my mother loved the amount of bacon. The bread was ho-hum. Potato skins were dry. Very nice servers. Picked up an order of fish and chips and a cheeseburger with fries. Got home the cheeseburger was red all the way through the middle. Undercooked. The tomatoes on the cheeseburger were so thick that they were totally inedible between the buns of the cheeseburger. I'm going down tomorrow morning to meet with the manager and I'm bringing the cheeseburger back to show them how undercooked it was. Their prices are way too high. We had the chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy pancakes and french toast. You get lots of food for the cost. The server was great although they are short staffed. The bartender was even better. Decently made bloody Mary. The best part was the biscuits and gravy. You'd be surprised to see a lot of places not make good gravy. This was pretty good. Complimented the biscuits. The chicken fried steak was really flavourful. The server did mention that it's not as tender as dinner people would like and I agree. But it still had better flavor then a lot of places. With most places closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, it was nice that this place was open and had good, fast service. I would recommend this place. I have had no experience with the seafood, but the environment is a nice diner feel with a seafood shack experience. Pull tabs, etc. I will be back when in town. There's not a lot of options and a lot is overpriced for what you get except this place and probably Bennett's down the street or something cheap and not real good like McDonald's. Update Feb-2022: awesome dinner on a Tuesday. A new favorite was the French dip, I must point the local coconut cream pie was out of this world! and the razor clamp was still my go to meal. See my photos Update Sep-2020: I am glad the home port is back open. The food was great. We had an awesome meal! Fried prawns, razor clams chicken parmigiana and fresh oyster. The kale/sausage soup was a great option for our baby. I love how the utensils were wrapped carefully (see photo). They are being excellent maintaining clean and family friendly restaurant. Attentive and considered staff. Update Aug-2019: We came for dinner on a Monday, even though service was a little slow they still maintained consistency with their meals. Captain’s platter was still an excellent choice and potato skins were awesome, razor clam appetizer paired with “home port breeze” cocktail. Update Apr-2019: Razor clamp dinner was awesome paired with shock top in draft. See photo Update Jun-2018: The prime rib was excellent! They can make you a Cesar salad with smoked salmon, which they smoke in house!! Update Jan-2018: Captain’s plate was a great choice. They had razor clamp sample. This is a local treat! My recommendations: Appetizers: the oyster platter. Get the cheeseburger - it is excellent! The chicken Parmesan - so delicious! Nice atmosphere, family friendly and accommodating hosts and servers.
