A well earned 5 star review of Gaucho Grill Argentine Steakhouse, highlighting the exceptional decor, wonderfully courteous staff. The picanha (sirloin) was fabulous simply one of the best steaks I have had since pandemic changed everything. The milanesa was good, my rather picky daughter ordered it with a side of fries and placed Gaucho Grill in her top 5 of restaurants. She is a foodie so that's a win. The paella was such a delight, flavorful and eye catching, so much guest at the table next to us was so curious they had to ask what I ordered. The portions are plentiful so our table of four ordered empanadas, the chorizo, extra bread and we got stuffed before the main entrees were delivered and we ended taking home leftovers for tomorrow. The cocktails are Ok - they were good, but next time I am going with a beer, Something about fire, meat and beer. Thank you Gaucho Grill for a fabulous first time impression. We will be back. I went to the OG one in Downey about 2-4 years ago, but this one, I feel, is a step up from that. Came for dinner about 7pm on Friday night with 4 people w/o a reservation and was seated pretty quickly Don't know if that was an anomaly or not , but very welcome. Service is top notch. We ordered a couple drinks to start off: smoked old fashion ($18), strawberry Basil margarita ($16). Tomahawk Ribeye ($135) with 2 sides, Meat Parrillada ($135) with two sides. Personally for me the tomahawk steak was a bit over cooked even though we ordered medium. Luckily there was the chimichurri to help with that. Sides were good though. Also, one little hiccup was one of the sides dishes didn't come in until we.werw almost done with the meal. Meat platter was plentiful with Chicken, beef short ribs, New York strip and I think chicken gizzards (didn't eat that lol). Towards the end of the night though (around 900pm) there was live music with an acoustic guitar playing contemporary songs in Spanish and English. For starters, Gaucho bread & Prosecco to celebrate the love week. For appetizers, Arugula salad, Shrimp, Ham & Mozzarella Empanadas. For the main, Prime Pacanha, Humitas Saltena & Champinones. For our dessert, Bunuelos to satisfy the sweet tooth. Mateo was our server, was a bit difficult to get his attention. Ambiance & great company, top notch !
