Several members of my family gathered from different parts of Georgia and the reputation of the Foothill Grill drew us there. The food was excellent, the waitress was so organized,fast, patient, and cheerful you never would have known she was serving 10 people of all ages. She checked on us often and that made such an enormous difference in our visit. No stress, no mistakes, just family fun. The prices are great to top it all off. Such an amazing day today. Country ham biscuits… biscuits was very good, ham ! What ham ? All fat. Very disappointed. Hash browns so greasy had to ask for napkins to try and soak up the grease. Found Foothill when researching the food options prior to our trip, this was on our list as a breakfast option one day. Let me say they did not disappoint. Do yourself a favor and make sure to stop in for breakfast; they do have lunch and such as well. The cinnamon roll was hands down the best I’ve had to date and I’ve had some dang good ones. The Tony’s breakfast sandwich put any other breakfast sandwich around to shame, as the kids say - on God! 😎 Cornbeef hash platter was ridiculous. Biscuit and gravy, solid 8.6. The biscuit was fluffy and hearty. 10/10 recommend. The service was top notch! We were greeted right way, someone to the table quickly, helped with suggestions and questions, friendly conversation. When they said casual dining, they described this no frills Grille perfectly. And when you are traveling, sometimes that's exactly what you need: simple but hearty food. We decided to stop by because of the breakfast served all-day description. However, we ended up getting lunch instead because we saw that they had some of our favorites. When we saw the chicken liver, hand breaded gulf oysters, country fried steak and gravy, and fried dill pickled chips, we knew that's what we had wanted. Let me tell you, for $48, that was better than the recent meal we had in Marietta, where we paid over $100 more. The portion is huge. Definitely more than enough for the two of us. This is hands down the best breakfast joint in Dahlonega. I loved coming here back when I was a Nighthawk and now every time in passing through I try to snag a Tony. Best breakfast sandwich on the planet 10/10 would recommend. PS - they give you a discount if you pay with cash. We are in town for a wedding and were looking for a breakfast spot this morning. Saw this place on Google search and decided to try it out. Apparently they were more busy than normal because of the holiday weekend. Not a lot of space to stand and wait, but we didn't have to wait long. Server was nice (and hustling! She had multiple tables and was taking orders all at once, never missing a beat) Food came out pretty quickly. Great breakfast and we had to take a cinnamon roll for the road. This little place is like a well oiled machine. It was very busy at 9:30 a.m. but the wait wasn't long. Customer service is excellent. Breakfast is perfect. A great start to the day and ending to our visit to Dahlonega. Get the cinnamon rolls! Friendly staff and has some great items on the menu. I very much liked the Ruben sandwich. Toasted perfectly on caraway rye bread. The special meatloaf dinner was very good with a large portion. Downside, out of mashed potatoes an hour before closing. Philly sandwich was disappointing. Overall more great items than duds on the menu. Pecan pie is excellent and cinnamon rolls are awesome. Holy cow! The food and service is amazing! Our waitress who was gracious enough to take a picture with me was the best! You must try the cinnamon roll. The Corned beef hash and country ham are heavenly. The Ruben sandwich was to die for. Small and congested dining area but quick service and excellent food choices including many breakfast options available at any time! We enjoyed sitting at the central counter and watching the neverending and impressive flow of servers preparing and running dishes to an abundance of locals and students from the University of North Georgia campus in Dahlonega!
