Everything was great, the waiter was wonderful and everything was exactly what we were expecting. Only complaint was it was super loud but only because it was super busy whichof coursethey can't help. Only suggestion is to make a reservation. We will definitely go back. I ate here with my parents and we had a lovely dinner there. My favorite was the Cajun Aged Rib eye steak which was a delicious balance of rich and salty! I had the hot honey chicken sandwich with a side of broccoli. The sandwich was delicious. The chicken was juicy and cooked well, bacon was crisp and sauces were so good. The broccoli was okay there were some pieces that were not fully cooked but taste was not bad. The cheesecake was heaven on a plate. Best cheesecake I have had so far in a restaurant setting. I wish I could have given 5 stars and if I lived in the area, I would definitely eat here again, but... I ordered a steak medium rare but it came to the table WELL done. They offered me to make another, even offered to make one for me to go. I declined but they really tried to make it right. I opted for a second spiced old fashioned (delicious), which was on the house. Our drinks were great the appetizer was delicious and my wife enjoyed her chicken. The service was top notch... Loved the salmon with lobster fondue! Maybe best salmon I have had at a restaurant! Ranch rings were really good. Bread was mediocre. Filet was pretty good but I didn’t like that it was wrapped in bacon. Do not recommend the southwestern au gratin potatoes. Would visit again for the salmon! Everything was fresh and served hot! highly recommend double diamond pineapple martini! I stopped for a late lunch/early dinner. The restaurant was not busy and the staff were very friendly and attentive. My seared tuna salad was excellent with a very good flavor. Loved the spicy sriracha sauce separately. I l enjoy spicy flavors but if I hadn't, being able to personally adjust the amount used would have been great. The Italian pinot grigio was quite good. Love the atmosphere here. Great service, very attentive waitress. We had the lobster spinach queso and it was fantastic. My husband took two bites of the smokehouse burger and declared it incredible. The tater tots were the best we've ever had. Usually they're soggy, but they were hot and crispy like they should be. I had the Firebirds chicken pasta and it was the perfect amount of spice. The atmosphere is cool looking with all of the bottles of wine on the wall and the bar. However, the noise level is so high you have a hard time hearing anyone talking at your table. The food descriptions read better than they taste. All our food was cooked properly, it just lacked flavor. All of the dishes we ordered were just ok. I don't plan on coming back to this restaurant anytime soon. There are way better places to eat in Des Moines for the money. Over all good food! Both our dishes were pretty under seasoned, but it didn’t ruin it by any means. We also did have an excessive wait for our food, about an hour. What was the saving grace was the wonderful staff and our waiter! Definitely a place I’d give a second chance to. Nice atmosphere when you walk in. Had reservations for 5:45 and had to wait until 6:20 to be seated. Did sit down at the bar and had a couple of drinks while we waited with friendly bar staff. We ordered the prime rib and ribeye for our meal. Prime rib was cooked to perfection but lack of flavor was disappointing. Did liven the flavor more with the creamy horseradish sauce and salt and pepper. The ribeye was blue when it came out and then they refired the steak. When it came out it was cooked well rather than a medium rare and husband just wanted to be done with trying to get the proper cook. Even with it being cooked well (no pink) it was still tender and good seasoning. Had the Philly cheese steak apps and nice bite to the sauce and flavor. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5
