This is a fun little spot for a drink and some food. Our server was really on it and it was busy! What I like about this place is that it's family friendly. I like coming here because it's got a good vibe, the drinks are nice and strong and some of their food has been great, but today I had a patty melt with a patty that was half the thickness as it should have been, and my brother had onion rings that were really good but they only gave him one small container of sauce. The waitress seating us was nice went out of her way to ask if we wanted "good creamer" for our coffees. Unfortunately, she was not the one we ended up waiting our table. Was not a busy time at all. The service from this point forward was mediocre as the waitress seemed to be in a hurry. She was walking away from the table as I was still in mid sentence on several occasions. My cup of chili came out cold, so i ate maybe half. However, the guys' chicken fried steak was good. And we do recommend trying there chicken fried bacon. They have a lot of menus items. I ordered the Moose Burger with salad... After 21 miles of hiking today, it was pretty darn alright. I'd imagine pretty much anything would be at that point. Our food was very good, for those who like gizzards they were delicious. Staff was attentive and helpful. Cheeseburger was really good and chicken fried steak was great as well. We dined here as it was recommended by a friend. Mr. Wonderful likes chicken fried steak, I mean, he *really likes chicken fried steak and this place is known for theirs. Fat Moose Bar and Grill is just that, a bar and grill. The interior is eclectic and homey. We believe that most of the patrons dining were regulars. As I have mentioned before, I’ll mention it again; this is a good sign! If you can keep your locals coming back for more, you’re doing something right. And these folks are doing something right! My husband ordered an Alaskan Amber Ale and I had a boozy coffee. They are very generous with their pours! Which was appreciated because I was chilled to the bone, that beverage warmed me up in a flash! Lauri was our server and she embodies what it takes to be an exceptional server. We felt welcome and catered to! She did not miss a beat and truly enriched our dining experience. So let’s talk about what we’re here for… the chicken fried steak! To begin with this thing was ginormous! Most normal people could turn it into three or four meals! Mr. Wonderful ate the entire portion in one sitting. So to date, this is the best Chicken Fried Steak that he has had the pleasure of devouring. In closing we agree with our friend’s recommendation to dine here. Great little bar and grill. It was pretty busy when we got there, but the servers were fast and efficient. It just happened to be taco Tuesday and we got hard tacos 2 for a $1, soft tacos $1 and taco bowls for only $2. The food was really good and the service was excellent!
