Expensive but the food was beautiful to look at and to eat. You have to order at the counter but the wait staff was very attentive bringing the food and anything else you needed. My only complaint was that there was very limited space inside to eat. We went during the end of our last Bay Area storm so it was cold, even with the outdoor heaters. This is a great little café my coworkers and I used to go to regularly when I worked nearby in the Stanford Research Park. I still meet up with my mom there for lunch occasionally and it's always lovely! Excellent outdoor seating area with great ambiance. The small interior can lead to a big line at lunch time, so if you want to beat the lunch rush I would order ahead. There is a vegetarian section on the menu that seems fairly large. My coworker who was on a strict keto diet for medical reasons enjoyed eating here. The back patio is accessible from the front and a wheelchair could roll through from front to back, although there are some large potted plants that might need to be nudged a bit to create a clearer path. Very packed cafe, but for a good reason, the food is really great and reasonably priced for the location! We tried the croque madame and the monte cristo sandwich. Both were very tasty, the croque madame much more savory and full of cheese and ham with tasty sauce, the monte cristo very sweet but also protein heavy with several layers of ham. Both were really tasty sandwiches and came with a side of salad or fruit (though would've been great to have been given the option as the fruit was much better). We also had the mocha coffee, which came in very large portion sizes in several different mugs (which was fun, and we recognized one of them being Target brand which is a bit funny). The mocha was really tasty as well and service quick. Would definitely recommend bringing a jacket and sitting outside as the inside felt really cramped and busy with everyone having to order and walk through the small inside dining space.
