Tasty food, good beer, really beautiful and atmospheric place. But the thing I liked the most - service and people working here. They were super friendly and pleasant. I got my order pretty fast. There are a couple of Forto Dvaras restaurants in Vilnius and around Lithuania, and they are all known to be a perfect place to eat Lithuanian food. Having a large party of ppl, we chose the outside patio near the Gate of Dawn catty-corner from the Radison Astoria. It was our first day in Lithuania and dining outside on a cool evening was ideal. We were introduced to several authentic foods that were highly recommended: the kepta duona (fried black bread topped w garlic and served w a cheesy, mayo sauce); cold beet soup served w crispy potato quarters; and cipelinai, aka zeppelin. (Cepelinai is the national dish of Lithuania consisting of potato dumplings stuffed with spiced ground meat.) I wasn't too fond of it. The Beet soup and fried bread though were most excellent! Best restaurant in the city. If you see a queue - believe me it’s worth to wait and I checked more than one restaurant in the city. Next time book table in this restaurant in advance to avoid queue:) Everything was tasty and the variety of the meals to choose was great. It’s a shame they do not have any corner for the kids but they have coloring books and crayons to keep the little one occupied (and special separate menu for them). Great place to try local cuisine. Interesting location by the lake. The restaurant is quite big - there was no problem to find a table for 7 persons. Menu is provided in several languages with photos which helps in dish selection. I liked the service. Waitress spoke Polish which was helpful. Potato dumplings and potato sausage were superb.

Very comfortable and nice place with awesome location just in front of the lake. The food is tasty, very good beer. Good prices (on average in Lithuania). The only lack is that staff can't speak english and doesn't seem to be so happy to serve you(Maybe just happened to me).

If you want the real, authentic taste of Lithuanian cuisine - this is a must visit place in Druskininkai. I was very impressed of a great, big choice of local traditional dishes and drinks. Interior is very nice with Lithuanian theme. All together, food + place = makes you feel yourself in a real Lithuanian atmosphere. Restaurant is next to beautiful lake and the view outside the window is stunning. Very friendly staff, polite, and quick service. This place is very busy in the evenings with lots of tables reserved in advance. If you will go on the weekend evening or Friday - my advice, just book table in advance. Looking forward in coming back there once again.
