I returned last night to this El Fenix restaurant, which was an old favorite of mine back when I lived in this neighborhood. At around 8:30 PM on a Monday night, we were the only couple in the place! The staff was super friendly, and I had a great conversation with our waiter, who provided excellent service. He was above and beyond generous with me, because, not only was it my birthday last night, but he is just a very nice person. The food was perfect TexMex fare, For a very affordable price. Great food. It is hard to find good enchiladas here in Texas. I am from Georgia where the Mexican food is completely different. You don't see cheddar cheese on or in anything in Georgia.
