Beautiful vintage restaurant/pub with photographs of boxing's history for aesthetic value. Relaxing atmosphere and excellent service. Food was great! Had spinach dip & housemade chips and a clam chowder for appetizers. Blackened mahi mahi Sammy, onion rings and 6 BBQ wings. Dip was hot and melty. Chowder was chock full of clam and creamy! Blackened mahi Sammy was flavorful and NOT dry which is a common issue with blackened meat but I wanted seafood and I was pleasantly surprised. Onion rings were excellent and I loved how thin and crispy they were, like they flattened the onion ring before breading it. The wings were big and crispy and I am certain that the BBQ sauce was house made as well as other sauces that came with the onion rings. While there are many eateries in the area, I would most likely return to Donovan's in the future. Great little pub in downtown South Norwalk (I believe it's one of the oldest continuously operating of its kind in town). Their menu is top-notch and I think their burgers are arguably the best in town, coupled with excellent french fries. I also love their chili, though I know their clam chowder is highly ranked and well-regarded as well. Wait staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. They do have outdoor dining options as well, but you might want to phone ahead to make sure.
