My recent visit to Dickey's BBQ Pit left much to be desired, as it turned out to be one of the most disappointing barbecue experiences I've had in a long time.
Firstly, the ribs, which are often a highlight at barbecue joints, fell short of expectations. They lacked the flavor and tenderness that one would typically associate with well-prepared ribs.
The disappointment didn't end there. The Giant Baked Potato, was a letdown. Not only was it undercooked, but the bacon bits topping it appeared raw, though they were likely smoked. It was a disheartening sight and a major detractor from the meal.
Furthermore, the pulled pork on the potato served to me was not at the right temperature, leaving it cold and unappetizing. This lapse in food safety and quality control is unacceptable for any establishment, especially one specializing in barbecue.
I learned that there was an issue after with the beverage dispenser(I was putting my lid on the drink), indicating a lack of attention to detail in maintaining basic amenities. Luckily I opted for unsweet tea so this did not affect my drink.
The only redeeming aspect of the experience was the cleanliness of the restaurant, which, unfortunately, cannot compensate for the subpar food and service.
Witnessing another patron receive a refund due to similar issues only reinforced my dissatisfaction. It's disheartening to see such consistent lapses in quality at a dining establishment.
In short my #BigYellowCup experience leaves me to say I will not eat at this place ever again.

I had a few of my co workers over and we ordered an XL pack from dickeys barbecue and it was the perfect amount of food and came with great sides and meat, I chose the smoked chicken, pulled pork and ribs. For the sides we ordered Coleslaw, potato salad, green beans and mac and cheese. The meal also came with 8 pieces of greatly buttered and nice crispy texas toast. I would 10/10 do it again and don’t regret a single dollar I spent. The meal got compliments from my coworkers and they even said they will be trying it sometime to see the other food that dickeys offers.

For lunch i had the western sandwich plate and I got it with mac and cheese as well as potato salad, the sauces were cooked so nicely and was delivered and made with care. When I received it i tried the sandwich will the Carolina barbecue sauces and they were all delicious. To finish off i had a cookie and man it’s so good.

Dickeys is hands down one of the best experiences I have had, if you are in the area of dickeys in herndon this is a must try. The 3 Meat platter with Jalapeño sausage, pulled pork, and brisket is a great combination of meats especially when paired with the sweet barbecue sauce. Some of the best sides to try with your meal are the barbecue beans, mac and cheese, fries, fried okra, or the coleslaw. If you need seating there are many available tables as well as 8 bar stools with a full bar and a wide variety of bourbon and signature cocktails. If you still have space for dessert then the blonde brownie is a must try or if you enjoy pecan pie that is a must try as well.

The food was good, but expensive enough that I couldn't frequent it. Two people cost nearly fifty dollars. It was not a relaxing atmosphere to eat in, as the owner's family and children were present and the children were running and screaming loudly thoroughly the restaurant. It was hard to have a conversation with the people we came with, who unfortunately, were having their first visit there and first impression of the restaurant.

They had pretty solid barbecue loved the sides. I've had barbecue in Texas so it's going to be hard to compare to that but it's just as hard to find good barbecue in Northern Virginia so this is a spot that's worth checking out.
