While on my most recent trip to California I stopped in Deer Park Wine & Spirits. Cheyne and the rest of the staff were awesome! Friendly, knowledgeable and incredibly helpful. They have a huge selection of wine and liquor and GREAT prices!! Ironically, their prices on Texas whisky is cheaper than I can buy it here in Texas!! Thank you for a great experience and I’ll definitely be back!
I literally can't say enough positive things about Deer Park. The staff is super knowledgeable and more importantly, has impeccable taste. Regular tastings, great prices, and a selection that beats anything you find even in the city. Top notch.
Very friendly... also sell grains and things to brew your own beer. It may cost a wee bit more, but hey...if you buy a bottle of liquor they will give you a small bag of ice! 😁
Okay...I have to change this...the above was three years ago, and I have been dealing with Cheyne for over three years now (even bought yeast there when I was pitching (I dabble with brewing) and my yeast seemed kind of dead), it was fresh and got my wart to bubblin)...and really, very competitive and that must be hard in Rio Del Mar. Also, will go out of his way to get you what you want (or at least has for me). On Black Friday every year for many years there is a company (not sure if I can say Goose Island here) that comes out with a Bourbon Barrell Aged Stout that was truly phenomenal - they've gotten a little, different since I started with this...it's really malty now...but he ordered me a case, and the price was right there with what I was paying. I also like Forty Creek Barrell Aged Canadian (or Niagara) whiskey (hope I'm not going to get in trouble for these shameless plugs)...and he has been special ordering it for me, saving me a trip over the hill (okay, I may be over the hill, but try to avoid going there) and not costing me for the convenience.
Hey...thanks Cheyne! 👍 Keep it up. Now if you can only match Costco's prices on Kettle One, Tito's, and our Gran Centenario you will own this whole family! Okay...perhaps a few beers and wines too. :-)
BTW: he turned me on to the bloody mary mixes that all my friends love too and have commented on how my BMs changed for the better. They get them again for our Breast Cancer walk on October 28th at Rio Del Mar, and I already picked up my Zing Zang, and Lefty O'Doul's BMM...I think it has Ghost Peppers in it...from Deer Park a few weeks ago.
Incredible selection, for the connoisseur as well as the neighborhood barbecue! Great club programs for whiskey, wines, beer. The team is a trove of expertise as well!
Full spectrum of palettes available here. Quality wine tastings, 4 pack IPA's, and a stack of cases of a lower-shelf vodka. What i bought was cheaper than the grocer next door.
