I love Rincon and love most of the places to eat, but this place is a joke. Service is a joke and the food at best is ok. Save your money and time, plenty our places in Rincon that are awesome. Food trucks on the side of the road have better service. Not sure how this place is still open. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

The food at Crucero is delicious, and I hope that giving 5 stars shows that I don’t have any bad intent. This place is a mess. I have celiac disease, which is an autoimmune disease that forces me to eat completely gluten-free. Crucero is a dedicated gluten-free facility — but they don’t share that information anywhere! (I had to learn about this from a gf app.) One time the owner, who was very kind to me, came over and chatted. He mentioned they don’t say anything about being gluten-free because they don’t think anyone will eat here. But here’s the deal — no one is eating here anyway! I moved to Rincón in the early off-season, when restaurants are really supported by locals rather than tourists. Every single local I’ve talked feels extremely negatively about Crucero and the neighboring sister café, Wabbles. Apparently there was lots of drama when they first opened, and the owners have never made things right with the locals. The vibes at Crucero are so weird. The staff is a revolving door. It’s somebody new working every time I come here. Sometimes they are super sweet and try hard. Other times they don’t give a single f. The music or tv is usually blaring something awful, but not consistent. Sometimes it’s Miami club vibes, sometimes it’s just a loud game. Thankfully, the staff has always been really nice to change the music for us — sadly, the music comes from a free YouTube account, so ads play throughout the meal. The hours are all over the place. I understand it’s like that all over Rincón in the off-season. But it’s really bad at Crucero. They are so inconsistent. I’ve shown up many, many times when they’re supposed to be open but they’re not. Why can’t they just update Google or share a social post that they’re closing early? Since this is one of few safe places for me to eat gf in Rincón, I would eat here a lot more often if I could. But between the awful dine-in experience and the fact that they won’t let me place a take-out order over the phone, the Crucero folks make it almost impossible to support them. The funny thing is, Wabbles is run so much better. The staff is almost always super helpful, the vibes are better, and they actually are helpful to order from the shared kitchen rather than attempting to go next door to Crucero. I’m honestly afraid that Crucero won’t stay open much longer — it’s that bad. And that makes me so sad! I want them to stay open and thrive. My biggest suggestions are: -Make it right with the locals. Be humble and apologize in a big way. -Stop being afraid to say you’re gluten-free. Lean into messaging like, “So good, you’d never know it was gluten-free.” I’ve brought several gluten eaters with me, and they’ve all loved their meals! -Lean into utilizing Wabbles. Maybe let them handle all the take-out ordering? But please start taking take-out orders. -Stop being all about appearances and taking out full-page ads that only talk about how it’s the “most instagrammable place in Rincón.” How about you talk about how great your food is? -Stop trying to be Miami. This is Rincón and the vibes are different here. Stop being a nuisance to the neighborhood and the town. I genuinely hope I don’t get some snarky, defensive response from the owner. I spend my money here (or try to!) multiple times each week. I sat here and tried to write a thoughtful review over the past 45 minutes while I’ve waited for my ridiculously-expensive Crucero burger, which I’m not sure is ever actually being made. I was told that the chef actually left and didn’t tell anyone. The staff tried to call him back, but I’m not sure what’s going on. Please try to fix this = Price per person $30–40 Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

We tried Crucero after a dive, even though they had no reviews. The open air ambience was chill and the bartender was welcoming. We ordered a passion mojito and virgin piña colada. Both were great. For the starter we got guac and chips (been craving guacamole but haven't seen it anywhere else in the Rincón area), and followed with shrimp tacos and a mahi mahi burger with shoestring fries. Everything was well seasoned and delicious. To be honest, it's probably the best food we've had in the area so far. Go check them out! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $30–40
