Absolutely Amazing! The food is amazing, I come here often. the music and ambience, decor and setting is perfect. I love this place for dining in or eating out. The bartender Joyce, is extremely kind and helpful, her warmth and friendlyness makes we want to keep coming back. I would 10/10 recommend this place. Now to the food, it’s well seasoned and flavorful. The fish, chicken and pork chops are all fried to perfection, with a delicious assortment of sides. This was some good soul food here! Everything came out hit and fresh and the staff was super nice and efficient. The catfish was fried perfectly, it was soft, white and not slimy on the inside, crispy and golden on the outside, and was seasoned perfectly. The wings were seasoned and fried just as well. They were regular sized wings and weren't rubbery. The rib tips were obviously oven baked but they were ok. The sweet potatoes were tender, sweet, and not over powered with nutmeg. Mac&cheese was cheesy and SEASONED(a lot of people dont do that). The greens were cooked down really well and had great flavor without tasting salty. They bring warm cornbread and butter out before the food came, that was awesome. The sweet potato muffins were awesome. The sweet tea was decent but not the best I ever had. The only issue I had with the atmosphere was how crowded it was but I see why. The staff made it really comfortable even though it was crowded. I don't mind at all traveling an hour and a half to eat here!! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Mac & Cheese

I have NEVER in my 45 years of life had SOUL FOOD this DELICIOUS from a restaurant!🙌🏾💃🏾 …and Monell’s in Nashville, Tennessee is my favorite!🫣 BAAAAAAAABEEEEEE! The food and presentation was everything! Briana our server was THE BOMB. Detroit and Cornbread Restaurant & Bar owes me nothing…NOT A THANG! Did I tell y’all I asked for the chef to come out?! He was very humble and kind. As they say in the D, “what up doe?!” Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Louisiana Style Gumbo

Went for the 1st time today and man...this place exceeded my expectations. Place is pretty small, but we came at a perfect time and got seats. Cornbread was made fresh and homemade. Our waitress Q was great, attentive, and fast! I ordered a cup of gumbo, and it was made right. Top 5 gumbo I had. Had all the right flavors. I ordered the smothered gravy oxtails, and they were fantastic. That with the rice were cooked perfectly and were flavortown to me. I also ordered fried Okra, mac & cheese, and sweet potatoes. They all were cooked perfect and made really well. The Mac and cheese was seasoned really good and wasn't too cheesy or dry. My wife got Fried Catfish, hush puppies, greens, and Mac & cheese. The hush puppies were the best ones I've had to date. Greens were good and not too liquidy. I ordered a carrot cake to go and my goodness it was bomb. This place is underrated and the food was amazing. Only 2 complaints I have is the place is small and tight and the price on dessert is a bit high. Everything was well worth it. I will Def be coming back. Best soul food spot in metro Detroit. ***Update we went back today and it was still just as great. Love this place *** Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes Side of Fried Okra
