If you like Afghan cuisine, then this restaurant is worth visiting. The cooks here prepare good chicken tikka, lamb shanks and salads. Trying nicely cooked yogurt is what most visitors advise. Tea is delicious, try it. Choopan Grill is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. A lot of guests find that prices are attractive for what you get. I have been going to Choopan Grill for many years, and it is one of my favorite restaurants, but my last visit on 2/16 was not good. The food was cold, the service was below average, and it seemed that when the owner or his sons were not there, the workers were not putting their best efforts. If you want to spend 17$ for a bowl of rice with a few pieces of meat. This should be the perfect place.

I've been here on several different occasions for dine in and takeout, and I'm always satisfied. The food is always amazing and so is the service. This last time, I got the combo #4, which is my number one recommendation if you've never been here. Tender lamb chops, well seasoned chapil, lamb Tikka, and melt in your mouth chicken breast. It comes with a side of rice, but I recommend adding the rasins and carrots. Another must try if this is your first time here, is the lamb shank. Literally fall off the bone and just so much flavor. I haven't had anything here i didn't like, but those would be my recommendations. If you need a small dish, you should also try the mantoo and the pumpkin. We have tried a few different local afghan restaurants but nothing compares to Choopan grill. They are unbeatable. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is always amazing. We grew up eating at the choopan in flushing and were so disheartened when they closed down. Glad that this location is very similar. We will be forever customers! This place makes very good authentic food and prices are reasonable. Food is tasty. Place is neat and clean. Everything I've had here is delicious. I can't believe I lived here two years and only just recently tried it. It's truly a hidden gem in Hicksville. Amazing food and staff, good portions and quality food. Will come back
