Excellent experience, very fun and instructive. You will learn or recall your knowledge about different kinds of rocks, minerals, and more. My favorite part... experiencing almost absolute darkness and then the fluorescent minerals. Don't forget to bring or rent an UV flashing.... for sure you will be one of the coolest in the excursion and everyone will try to stay close to you.... 70 feet under ground temperature is very stable.... bring a light jacket, or you will be sweating.... If you have a young kid (my son is 2)... there are tons of stairs and wet, so it will be slippery. The entire tour is around 30 minutes.

This is one of the smaller caves I’ve been in. Tour is short but I did enjoy seeing everything. This is a short drive if you want to get away from Wisconsin Dells for a bit. I took off a star because $22 is kind of pricey for such a short experience. I’m sure people know this but it’s actually warmer in the caves than it is outside especially when it’s winter. They have a small souvenir shop if you want to pick up something. Tour guide was informative and knowledgeable.

When we got there we were moved to a different time 30 minutes away because of our large group. It was a very fun experience and I enjoyed looking at all of the different types of stones and different other materials, I got a lot of different photos without being rushed. Got a container of rocks, strawberry soda, a large stuffed bat, a star crystal, and a medium bat I got earlier before we went in and the guy at the cashier was really nice. He taped up the container of rocks for us and he told us about people who said the strawberry soda tasted like strawberriy or cherry pie. We named the medium bat Larry after the cashier we had.

Cave of the Mounds was a fun adventure for the family. 5th largest cave in Wisconsin and it's a wet cave so we saw flowing water and pools. We went just after Christmas so they had lights in the cave. Kids loved it and there's more to explore when it's warmer out as well.

I love these caves. Great tour and excellent guides that answer questions and have fun. The new visitor center is looking great. The beer garden and surrounding activities are fun. The Christmas lights are on display and look cool. When you take the tour rent the the blacklight it adds to the fun of the tour.

Fantastic cave tour. Informative and friendly guide (Abe) on our tour. We had a great time with the family going through here. Would definitely recommend, well worth the price of admission in my opinion! Thank you for the excellent tour Abe!

This was undoubtedly the best cave I’ve visited in recent years! I was especially impressed with the amount of stalagmites, stalactites, and underground ponds of water that were prevalent throughout the cave. Also, occasionally keep an eye out for a couple fossils embedded on the roof of the cave!

We were the only ones on the tour, probably because it was in the 20s today and the Monday after Thanksgiving. Plan your visit on a day when it's not busy. That's the best! So cool! And the stories and history are really interesting. Definitely worth the visit!

I took my 5 year old nephew here today and we had SO MUCH FUN. Our tour guide, Chris, was fantastic. He was super knowledgeable, friendly and great with the kiddos. Renting the UV Flashlight was the best investment, my nephew loved that. My nephew loved the little “mining station” they have out front. I got him a $15 bag of sand with gems and he had a blast sifting through it to get all of the gems. He could have done that all day.
This is the teeny-tiny version of Carlsbad Caverns. If you've never, ever seen a cave, then go here. The guide we had was informative, but couldn't answer all my questions, one of which was do you go permanently blind if you come out of a cave after getting cave-blindness. Which you supposedly get after being in a pitch-black cave for an extended period of time. Does that last forever? He didn't know, but I hope he finds out so the next person who asks will get an answer. The tour is pretty short, less than an hour. You do get interrupted by other groups going past, and you do hear other guides talking when you're trying to listen to your guide, but again, this is a teeny-tiny version of a huge cave, so I guess it's to be expected. The grounds are beautiful, the hillside garden is pretty, and the beer garden is very pleasant. If you have seen a huge cave, skip this. If you have kids under 15 that you need to entertain, go here.
