Amazing steak subs!! I’m sure the other menu offerings are just as good, but I can’t bring myself to order anything else because the steak is just too good. The guy at the front is really charming and efficient, It’s a very small walk in place , no indoor seating. Outdoor seating seasonally. Go there!! I live in the western part of the state and have been wanting to come here for years ever since I saw it featured on Phantom Gourmet. The women at the counter greeted us with a smile, took are order and we had subs on the table within minutes. I got a small steak and cheese which is easily a large anywhere else. The sub was loaded with steak, the roll was soft but sturdy enough to hold the mountain of steak. Definitely lived up to the hype BEST steak sub I've ever had. Can't wait to come back. Pictured: Carl’s Steak Special +Mustard +Mayo This is definitely a top-notch steak and cheese sub. It’s has a healthy amount of meat on the sub. Next time I might go without sausage. The bread is A+. Food and service was amazing! The food was brought to us outside in less than 10 minutes. I got the Cajun and it was very well seasoned and the large is huge! Fries were great as well. Given the place has history and that the amount of toppings and size of the item is enough to feed an army however, i must say that taste wise, it is somewhat underwhelming. Perhaps for Waltham folks there is a nostalgia associated to the place but for $16 bucks, if i was to rate this outing, i would say it is pretty meh.
