My wife and I decided to try this restaurant after seeing a commercial several times. The place was low key but the food was very delicious. My wife had chilies rellenos and I had ranchero tacos. Both plates had very good portion size and the food was very hot. We had never had food come to the table as hot as this. We highly recommend Candilejas and know that no-one will be disappointed. Great food and portions at a great price, but the people that work here are the best. They take the time to explain the menu, etc. Don’t let the location discourage you in that it sits off by itself. A small, intimate interior. You feel like you’re sitting down at a friends kitchen table! The service was fantastic, our waitress was so kind and conversational, everything our group tried was very good. I’ve been searching for a Mexican restaurant with at the very least good salsa here in Midland, and this checked that box and beyond.
