We have been regular visitors for last 10 years, so we went back for a coffee and luxury cakes. That was a true disappointment. Not very friendly treatment. Cold coffee (milky cappuccino). One cake not to be eaten (margarine and sugar) and one completely dry (walnut cake). We commented this and feedback was that perhaps better next time. I have never been treated as unfriendly in a restaurant before. Did not inform us that they wouldn’t be serving any food an hour before closing and had us waiting with a baby. When we wanted to order and found out, did not apologize. Also several tables were blocked though not used.

We enjoyed our afternoon here. Nice atmosphere. The wisteria was in bloom and looks awesome. Live music by the Hound Dog Dus was really nice. Not too loud, unless they are right next to you and a great variety of songs to choose from. The surrounding park and forest is an excellent place for a walk and a picnic. We will come back here, for sure.

Brasserie Staverden is located in the 17th century castle gardens of Landgoed Staverden . The now award-winning Brasserie consists of two connected rooms; the Conservatory and the Orangerie. In addition, there are two adjacent terraces. Since April 2009 a special place to enjoy a cup of coffee, lunch, drinks or dinner. You are also very welcome to celebrate your birthday or wedding day. Brasserie Staverden is a unique location in the Netherlands. Partly because of its special location in the middle of the castle gardens of Staverden. Staff perfect, eten goed, scenery good. Interesting but I wonder what it was like in it's hayday. Greenhouses, stables shame this has gone.

Fantastic location, serene, peaceful and spacious. There’s a beer brewery that you can visit in walking distance. They use herbs picked fresh from their own garden. The food was wonderful! They also have a great Paulaner half liter alcohol free beer.
