The food here was pretty good. Chips were standard rather than fries but were homemade and nicely seasoned. My Reuben was solid but not spectacular. I wasn't a fan of the corned beef being cubed rather than sliced. A sandwich that can already be a little messy was even more so. That said I enjoyed it. I had fountain pop rather than any of the beer options as it was lunch time and I live a couple of hours away. The service was very good! Friendly and attentive. In town for the weekend with a family member who has property up there, we stopped here for dinner. The place was busy, but it was a Friday night around 7 or 8 so it was to be a tad expected. The food was good for the most part, but our server sucked to be honest. First of all we waited idk how long to place an order, which was ok because they were busy, but when we did order, and I asked for Xtra crispy bacon and no onions on my burger and Xtra crisp on my fries... The attitude I got was like I asked for them to part the red sea if you could have seen my servers eye roll and I wasn't even asked how I wanted my burger cooked?? Guess it was "assumed" I just wanted medium or well done???? Nevermind the fact that not one time did the server ask us how our food was or if we needed anything else until we were basically done with our meal. Mind you, we were sitting at the bar where they go in and out from behind the bar and she walked by us like a dozen times. Then paying our bill was yet another fiasco as the bartender obviously preferred the regulars and their drinks over those of us there to just get a good meal. Thankful for the opportunity to be employed at this amazing restaurant! We were given two days off over this busy holiday season to spend time with our family and enjoy an AWESOME employee Christmas Party. Boathouse is a great stop if you are in the Ely area- they have a great beer selection of self brewed beers and a wide food selection as well. Prices are very reasonable and the staff does a great job taking care of their customers! Gotta love the Motorboat burger and fries- pairs perfectly with an ice cold beer! This place is crazy good! We loved trying the fun different seasonal beers they had. I tried a really tasty blueberry flavored beer when we were here. My husband and I ordered the poutine to share and we each ordered a burger that had peanut butter and bacon on it. We did not know that the poutine would be such a huge portion! It was phenomenal and it had us both so stuffed that we had to take our burgers and fries to go. The burgers were still so yummy, even as leftovers!
