Great coffee shop located on US-22 in Central Jersey. There is a spacious lounge area that is tastefully decorated and easy to spend time at. Service is always great.

I stopped in here to get some coffee beans as I like to support local roasters and always love finding new places. I tried the single origin Mexico beans. Used for espresso, great taste and definitely of good quality. I will be back to try something new next time! Great customer service as well.

Great coffee shop in our community. Their Mocha is amazing (both iced and hot) and it has become my benchmark when trying new coffee shops - i have yet to find one that is as good as theirs.
We also love to but the coffee beans as gifts and have sent gift baskets during the holidays which as always well received.

I have been looking for fresh and local coffee that I can make pour-overs and espressos with at home. After finding this place online and on the shop app, I decided to visit and pick up some coffee. I was greeted and given amazing service. I came in with several questions that were answered, which led to a fun conversation. I love and appreciate how coffee is roasted and blended on the premises, and the coffee that's sold has the date it was ROASTED on and not some best-buy date implying the coffee could have been sitting there losing its character for months or a year. The prices for the coffee, coffee equipment, and merch they carry are reasonable, so I got myself two bags of coffee and a hat. I'm looking forward to returning soon, ordering a nice handcrafted pourover, and relaxing in their lounge. In the future, I'll now be ordering fresh coffee online from a place that cares about the freshness of their coffee ☕️ 👏🏼

Probably the best place to have coffee in the area. My buddy and I went to High Bridge and wanted to have coffee after. Checked Google and Black River Roaster popped up! No regrets coming here. We had the Rocket and Cookie Monster coffee. Both were amazing! Shout out to the barista - Cayla SHE WAS AMAZING! Friendliest ever. We will definitely come back!

Black River is definitely the best place to grab coffee in the whitehouse area. Cute little shop with a cool lounge area that is quiet and clean if you’re looking to hang out and work while you drink your coffee.
The staff always seems to be extremely nice and and hard working doing various things around the shop when I come through.
If you like small craft coffee shops, I highly recommend this establishment.

Excellent service and atmosphere! The drip coffee I had did not have much flavor however I did purchase a bag of Guatemala Bourbon beans that were excellent at home with a pour over. Would definitely go back, they have plenty of options to choose from.

First time there and was extremely impressed. Beautiful and cozy atmosphere. As soon as you walk in, you smell the wonderful aroma of the coffee beans. Customer service was beyond stellar. I purchased the English breakfast tea and hot coco, unfortunately that spilled in my truck, but it smelled amazing. The tea was made to perfection!!!!!! Also brought the lemon bar, amazing!!!! Don’t hesitate to buy anything in the refrigerator they will heat it up for you. Their ham & gruyere was amazing. Definitely will be a repeat customer!!!

Excellent coffee and speciality lattes, including hot chocolate. Spacious and styled interior with smiling staff. Comfortable lounge with relaxing tables and cozy corners, defined by ample natural light. Wisps of countercultural energy. Vibrant and welcoming crowd. Good energy.
Lovely location, super comfortable interior, really nice staff members. I tried the cold brew and it was just ok. Kind of had that sour taste that some brews have and it isn’t my favorite. Would love to go back and try their lattes and teas as they seem to have a lot of different options. If anything, I recommend just stopping by for the experience. It was so lovely just sitting in their common area and chatting with my friend.
Now to my standard COVID comments as of March 2022. Interior was super clean which was reassuring. Everyone is wearing masks too. Felt completely comfortable just chilling in there with my drink.
