I am very impressed with the place. After a short stay in NY and experiencing exceptionally poor waiter service, the meals and service were memorable. I felt special; appreciated and noticed. For me, one of the most interesting places, which I will definitely repeat during my next visit to Pennsylvania. Best regards to the entire crew! Artur from Poland!

Been here twice now and it’s been a great experience both times. We really dig the 1700’s historical prints and the old tyme nature of the building itself. Chicken pot pie is amazing. Love the brussel sprouts appetizer. Highly recommended

Lafayette's Onion Soup
This is one of my favorite restaurants! I took my parents to dinner here a couple weeks ago to celebrate my mom's birthday. We've had Jenn as a server the past couple times we've eaten here and she always does an amazing job! She makes sure my meal is entirely gluten-free (allergy) and her friendly, warm demeanor makes us feel like family. When we think of Black Powder, we think of Jenn and how amazing the customer service is here. Also their black bean burger is the best veggie burger Ive ever had!!! Highly recommend this restaurant.

Not even sure where to start; but, oh boy is the service horrible. We were seated promptly our server came over took our drink and appetizer order. My husband was not given the drink he ordered so he had to wait for Jenn to come back. When she came back she took our entree order, mind you we still haven't seen our appetizer and we had to ask for the correct drink for my husband. So she asks us if we wanted an appetizer we told her you took that order when you took our drink order. So needless to say she ran off because she forgot to put in the appetizer order.
Our food did eventually come out. The food was hot and fresh. My meal was not as I ordered; but, it was fine I took what I didn't order off of my sandwich.
We waited 15 minutes for our check, when Jenn came back we gave her our credit card. When she came back for us to sign the bill she gave us somebody else's credit card and bill. We tell her it is wrong, she grabs it and runs around trying to figure out where it goes. She was holding our credit card in her hand and tried giving it to two different guests. I told her it was ours and to give it to us. She lost another guests credit card and boy was he mad! I don't blame him either. When we got home we looked at our credit statement, lo and behold we were charged for our check and somebody else's. Yes, I called the credit card company.
So sad that the service was terrible, because the food and atmosphere are excellent. Jenn's performance with the credit cards sealed the deal for us we will not be back.

This place was pretty good. Not the best burger ever, however, all the other stuff was great. Clean fast and good service. I would come back to try other menu items
