However, my recent visit during the bustling first Friday monthly event led to a two-hour wait, a testament to the restaurant's popularity and the community's enthusiasm for such gatherings. For those eager to indulge in the flavors of Bird Creek without the lengthy wait, I highly recommend arriving early to secure a seat. The experience is well worth the planning, as the restaurant offers not just mouth-watering dishes but also a unique blend of culture and camaraderie that defines downtown Temple.

Shrimp and Grits
The fish and chips were absolutely delicious, as were the garlic fries. Truffle fries, too! Fried green tomatoes and the dipping sauce were something to write home about. Equalling those items was their award-winning beer. I got the Lamborghini Truck and it was so good, like the best beer I've ever had (said with a serious face). As soon as they serve it to you, you can smell the fruity citrus coming from the glass. It's made with grapefruit. That said if you don't like grapefruit, you'll probably love this beer anyway because it smells so fresh, crisp, sweet(ish) and full. It doesn't necessarily taste like grapefruit or a head full of lemons or whatever, just great beer. I don't know all the beer words to use. I suggest trying it. I sampled my dining companion's beer and it was very good, too. You likely can't go wrong if you order what's on the board or what's on tap.

Fried Green Tomatoes
We really enjoyed this place! While they don't have a big menu, the food they do have is really delicious. The Chili Cheese fries were 🔥🔥🔥!! I was sad they weren't doing beer flights when we were there, but I definitely like their beers. I want to go back and get a flight so I can try more!!

Chicken and Waffles
The food was really, really good I would have liked a bit more mushrooms on my mushroom burger but I'm greedy. So all in all the garlic aioli and goat cheese are a game changer. This burger is absolutely delicious. My wife got the grilled chicken sandwich added teriyaki sauce & jalapeno and was very happy with it, so much so I didn't even have a chance to get a picture. Maybe next time.
