Do not go away without trying good bacon, crab cakes and chili. Many people visit this restaurant to taste tasty cinnamon rolls, peanut butter pie and biscuits. Ordering the delicious draft beer is a decent idea. Here you can have great chocolate frappe or good hot chocolate. It's easy to find Sea Shanty due to the great location. Cayucos has some nice homes and some not so nice homes. Some new and others that would be considered teardowns. That could be the Sea Shanty, a teardown, if not for the intended rustic charm of the place. They're a little pricey, but what coastal restaurant isn't. The burgers are fresh and that's okay with me. Their seafood is decent too. They have a decent amount of outside seating for the crowds and locals that dine there. This place is always great! My favorite is the patty melt with tomatoes on the side so it doesn’t make the bread soggy. But I’ve had many things over the years and they were all good. The portion sizes are great for what you pay. They allow dogs on the patio and even provide separate blankets for the people and the pets if you get cold. They also have heaters on the patio. I loved the chilli cheese dog and the artichoke. I didn’t care for the cinnamon roll as it tasted more like a brown sugar roll and it actually hurt my teeth. Also don’t go for take out. They will tell you that you must wait to get your food till everyone else in the restaurant is served.
