Unfortunately the staff was not friendly or welcoming at all. The food was good, yet quite pricey for the amounts. The seating outside is nice, but the vibe of the staff creates quite a cold atmosphere. I would not come back here. Although I had a reservation that I requested to move to stay longer, the host asked us in a not friendly tone and several times to move from table since the tables were "reserved". The place was empty and I was being treated poorly no one helped to move our drinks and food. The tables were dirty full of sand and dog hair I had to request them to clean, while they were cleaning other tables to prepare them. The furniture was dirty and the sunscreens need maintenance. I didn't feel welcomed, and it was a pity since the place is the best (and only) to watch the sunset. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person €100+ Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Honestly surprised by the bad reviews of this place. The food and drinks are really good and the prices are a bit on the high side (think 20-25 euros for lunch, 15euro for a cocktail, 6-7 euro for beer or wine) but normal beach restaurant prices in my view. Prices were really high. There was no specific dinner menu. Dinner exists out of only sharing dishes which where 4 dishes with extremely high prices and some small dishes. We decided to leave after drinks, due to high prices and confusion about dinner. This is a pinkster weekend(national holiday weekend), the restaurant was for 80% empty on a summer day with a pretty sunset. Normally beach restaurants are full! We reserved to have dinner. After a drink we saw the food prices. The amount of food is limited and prices are ridiculously high. €€€€€€ Very bad service for the money they ask. Staff avoid you with due diligence. Third day we come here. The first 2 days it was empty so the service was nice (maybe the guy who served us the other days was the only one knowing his job). The view is really nice. Now the place is 70% full and they took our order after almost 1 hour. I was at this place 7 years ago and 3 years ago and it was nice one. Beautiful location and view. Now update...so bad. Now is just - nice view, nice location...so bad service, bad coffee and really, really expensive (we travel a lot so this was like Paris, New York price). We got like Senseo coffee, my cappuccino was just water...like cold milk in Senseo coffee...I really do not understand. They brought filty cups and they spill coffee on table...I told him "can you pls just wipe that coffee a bit and he did and spill again...". I do not remember last time we had so bad service. They are bringing first cakes and then coffee...like 10 min between. The best seats are "reserved" and it was almost half empty. So we couldn't drink next to view point, and nobody came in that 30 min. I do not recommend this place. Just keep walking😄 Ameland has so so good Caffès and restaurants ... this is not one of them. Price range is criminal - like the best seat in Amsterdam...just no, no. 2 stars because of view and old memories that this place use to be good...if I can I will give zero. The Sunset Beachclub at Hollum Ameland, is a really cozy place directly over the dunes on the beach. The menu is extensive and the crew nice and helpful. Fully recommend, beware you might need to make a reservation.
