Haven't been in in some time, got a gift card from my son. Didn't disappoint. Got some books to read, a cookbook, hiking guide and other fun stuff. Loved the me time.
One of the worst experiences as a customer here yesterday. I went in to the location to return 2 children’s books my child did not want and a book for my husband he didn’t want. I did not have the receipt for the books but I had purchased on my credit card from the same location 4 days prior. I went to the register to return the books. The associate proceeded to tell me she had to look if the books were still sold at the store because she just got in trouble for returning “old books”. I explained that they still carried them in the store as 2 of them were actually at the register and one of them was on a stand alone featured table up front. She said she had to check the system still to see if I was lying or not because (exact words used) “another young girl was trying to return books that we didn’t even sell anymore”. Instead of continuing to argue I said OK no worries and then after she confirmed they still sold the books she said she could only offer me store credit because I didn’t have the receipt. I asked if she look up the transaction on my credit card or membership ID. She said no and said that it’s not their policy to do that. She explained that the membership doesn’t “work like that” and that my membership is “irrelevant when it comes to returns without receipt”. I told her that I had just done a return without a receipt in Nashua for one book a couple of weeks prior and the associate in Nashua had looked up my transaction by my credit card and membership ID. Then the Burlington associate said that the policy had since changed and she couldn’t do it. I honestly wouldn’t have cared if I got a store credit because I spend so much money at Barnes and Noble (hence the premium membership), but the associate was extremely rude, argumentative, and at this point was yelling at me. She then waved her hands up at me and yelled “ILL JUST ASK A MANAGER WHO WILL TELL ME THE SAME THING”. I was floored by the way I was being treated. The associate told the manager “it looks like we still MIGHT have these books” and then I interrupted her and told the manager I had bought them 3 days ago and they were literally right in front of her and then the associate had the nerve to interrupt me and say that she just wanted to make sure I wasn’t “another young girl trying to return old books”. The manager then came over to the register and confirmed that the associate could look up the transaction by my credit card. The associate was apologetic which I appreciated but at this point it was too little too late. This is a clear example of ageism. I look a lot younger than I am. It was my only day off from work and without my kids and all I wanted to do was return these 3 books and browse the store and relax and read. Instead I spent most of my time arguing with an associate who not only didn’t know what she was doing but was so quick to judge me. I’m never coming here again and seriously considering going to the attorney general for the discrimination.
I love it all those books and smell the coffee around the store, and they have the spanish book section. It is not too big, but I found some goods book and toys, book mark and more
As it's the day before Christmas Eve, the store was packed. We still received excellent service from the staff in all interactions. In the children's section, two employees helped me at different times and were both knowledgeable and friendly. There was a wrap- around line at checkout that moved surprisingly fast. Although this must have been an at least somewhat stressful situation, our cashier was friendly as she efficiently rang us up. We'll definitely revisit this location.

One of the most interesting B&Ns I’ve ever been to. The staff were a lot of fun (with their loudspeaker announcements) and extremely helpful. I think B&N itself is lacking in some of the messages they push, but it’s a great bookstore nonetheless with a wide variety of subjects to choose from.

Super awesome place. The candles are right by the register which made my book ambiance super cozy. I mistakenly broke an orange pumpkin candle and they were so kind as clean it for and then I got the one with the golden lid which I was greatful for because now there's more of the terrific scent. My book experience was so comfy with their cozy socks I also got 😂 that I wasn't able to go to the gym because I wanted to stay in the book. Love that place and their starbuck area is hilarious. Rather peaceful staff.

My child's favorite store is Barnes & Noble, and this particular branch is one of the best we've visited. The children's section, located on the upper floor, boasts an impressive selection of books with an intuitive layout that's perfect for young readers. 😊 Additionally, the cafe offers a diverse menu, making it a delightful spot for a quick bite or a leisurely coffee. Plus, its proximity to the Burlington Mall is a bonus for those looking to combine shopping trips!

Supermarket sized bookstore in Burlington. Contains a Starbucks where plenty of people are working or reading. There are two floors of books although there is also a section of toys. Fairly busy on a Thursday afternoon.
