Great selection of food. Fun atmosphere. Lots of choices on the menu mean you won’t go away hungry. Plenty of seating. Even had a guy singing when I was there. Made for a fun dinner. Absolutely fantastic!! The brisket was so tender, and the smoke ring around the sliced brisket was a beautiful sight!!! Every single person behind the counter was informative and friendly!!! The beans are included with the plate and don't count as a side (that you don't ever see)!!! Definitely recommend that everyone should stop in!! Update; we came in for Friday night steak night. Little bit of a wait for the meal, but it was very good. You get a choice of like three steaks. We got one sirloin for two. Definitely would do that again. Come early! Great atmosphere, BBQ was pretty good, somewhat smaller portions than I would expect, no dessert available. Interesting business model, serve yourself, clear your own table, and disposable plates and real silverware separated in wash tubs. Minimal employees for sure. Beer but no wine available. Great bbq! Everything was super tender. The ribs were a little dried out but still fall off the bone. Only one kind of bbq sauce but it was still good. Their soft drinks didn't have enough syrup, it was mostly carbonated water. Still recommend! I heard their chicken, sausage and meringue are really good so we plan to try them if we're on the area. Clean establishment and friendly staff. Lots of parking. Even if there's a line, it goes quick. MMMM… so good! I went here with my husband and we both got loaded baked potatoes. He got his with brisket and I got mine with smoked turkey and they were both fabulous! The macaroni was very good and nostalgic but it could have used more seasoning. The coleslaw definitely needs improvement but the banana pudding was great! We both ate for under $40! My experience eating here was wonderful. Food was just absolutely incredible, the brisket was super tender and juicy, the mac & cheese was 💣 and the potato salad was nice too! Ok, I’m a KC BBQ lover but this brisket is rock solid and the smoked sausage was an awesome delight as well. Coleslaw was rather underwhelming but the potato salad was spot on. Baked beans was a nice surprise. The place is big and is inviting. We love this place. Delicious BBQ and good variety of side dishes. It’s off the beaten path where the locals go to eat which is what I look for. Friendly service and good food. We had their pork ribs which were good. Large restaurant which is good if you want to meet with a large group. Give them a try. I will be dreaming about this food until I can get back to Texas again. My daughter and I did not know what good brisket was until we ate here!!! The food… all the food was good but that brisket OMG the best we have ever had! We both ordered the three meat platter I had ribs, sausage and brisket ….. my daughter did the same except she had chicken sausage. We also had sides of coleslaw, potato salad, Mac and cheese and the complimentary beans. My daughter also ordered a slice of chocolate pie that was topped with a heaping helping of meringue. Every last bite was wonderful. We went around dinner time and the place was packed not really any seating, so plan on that and they had sold out of few items the beef tips and loaded potato. Next time we will go earlier (we are already planning our next trip from Virginia). I cannot recommend this place enough if you are in the area or even near this area GO you will not be disappointed. We held our rehearsal dinner at Backwoods BBQ back in November, and we were so impressed not only by the food and accommodations, but by the spectacular customer service! The restaurant is large itself, but they have a good sized back room that can be used for private events, with doors that close and even a TV that we used to connect a photo slideshow to. The food was so tasty, and the staff seamlessly served our party of 60 people - that is a lot of mouths to feed!
