I miss Barry's cooking before he sold :( I used to drive down (hour 35) to B3 when I had a craving for GOOD BBQ and I ALWAYS stopped on my way through in my travels (when they were open) to get a brisket sandwich, smokehouse fries, and some sides. I always introduced new people to it too whenever someone was riding with me. As far as food I've had: The Mac n cheese is still ✅ Brisket-not Barry's Cornbread-dry as a desert, huge slabs of it and bland Homemade Mac salad ✅ Smokehouse fries ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅✅ of the charts. Not sure what all the hype is surrounding this place, but the food was absolutely terrible. Spent 75$ just to throw it all away. Ribs were dry and disgusting. Same with the smokebomb potato, cornbread, chicken, and pulled pork. Only semi decent thing was the brisket and beans. As a southerner transplanted to the north, i was appalled that they even called that bbq. The restaraunt is nice, homely inside. Good staff. But i will never get food from here again. Asked my wife to grab me a pulled pork sandwich from here today. She walked in roughly 11:30. She did not notice any staff. She finally noticed a girl behind in the kitchen area with her head down. My wife called me at 11:40 to see if I would like something else. She stood there for about 10 minutes and also did a few fake coughs. It is sad that no one wants to work these days, let alone to stay conscious for their job. Should have gone to Tunkhannock for some bbq. Service: 1

Stopped in today for a late lunch - I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of Mac & cheese and cornbread, husband got the b3q signature sandwich, brisket, and a side of baked beans. We got an order of smokehouse fries with brisket to share. Everything was hot and fresh, and we got our food in less than 10 minutes. There's drink coolers with snapple, waters, and sodas to choose from as well. The food was delicious - the pulled pork was juicy and the brisket was tender. I topped my sandwich with their white sauce, signature, and Chipotle sauces. It was so good. The real winner was the smokehouse fries though - seasoned perfectly, crisp, and so tasty. I would highly recommend!! The chef (owner?) also came over to our table and we had a very nice conversation - it was a very good experience and we will be returning in the future! Purchased combo 1 with pulled pork as well as 1/4 of the brisket. Sides were mac n cheese and baked beans. $72.00 later and we were all very disappointed in our food. First of all, it was not even hot. Pulled pork was extremely dry. Brisket was swimming in grease. The Chicken was the only thing that had any kind of smoke flavor, but unfortunately that was not really good either. Mac n cheese was super thick and gritty. Beans were good. Cornbread rocked!
Stopped in for lunch one afternoon for the first time and had a very pleasant experience. The man behind the counter seemed very busy and was filling multiple take out boxes but took our order as soon as we were ready. He was very attentive the whole time we were there and very friendly! Would simply come back just for his service! The brisket was delicious, although there wasn’t a great spicy sauce for my husband, I enjoyed the mustard bbq sauce! The mac and cheese was a tad garlicky for our liking but still creamy Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Price per person $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Brisket Sandwich
Brisket was like shoe leather. Good customer service, warm, inviting atmosphere very cool place it’s situated in an old gas station seating area for approximately 10 people limited parking available on site.
You Need To Know? Arrived around 6:00 p.m. & we were the only people there. We sat at a table & viewed the menu on our cell phones for about 15 minutes before we realized they don't wait on you at this restaurant. You have to get your own drinks, no ice, order your own food, pick up your food, & then clean your own table. The girl at the register was sure to remind us on how to place a tip on the receipt though?? The food came out very quick which was a pleasant surprise. Took less than 5 minutes to come out. The brisket was moist & good with your choice of sauce. Sauces were good, but thin & watery, none of them were spicy & thick. The pulled pork was dry, the ribs were overcooked & charred & the fries were soggy. Maybe because we were attempting BBQ in the dead of winter made it not so good?? Now You Know!
The B31 Smokehouse is a comfortable spot in West Pittston with a friendly staff and a welcoming environment. We arrived on a Friday around 7 p.m. Although there was a family already dining there, there were only about two or three tables remaining, however we did have an option to eat outside (which we declined). My girlfriend had the slow and low pulled pork sandwich, which was tender and pretty good. I had the brisket sandwich and smoked wings, which was also delicious. We also ordered a side of fries, which was more than enough for two people. The Nashville wing dipping sauce was tangy and packed just the appropriate heat. The table was also filled with a variety of barbecue sauces, including peach, Alabama white (mayonnaise and horseradish) chipotle, the B3Q signature sauce, and many a few others, which I experimented with as I ate my meal. Nick, the owner, made us feel right at home, and even stopped by for some pleasant conversation. An Air Force veteran who returned home to start the business, gave us the brief history of the establishment, and you can tell he puts his heart and soul into his restaurant. Although the place is small, you can always order takeout, which won't disappoint. Give this place a try if you have a hankering for some tasty meat.
