We stopped by for a drink and appetizer before heading to dinner elsewhere. (We wish we would have stayed here for dinner!) Our beers were good and fit perfectly with the amazing spring weather we were enjoying on their patio. We also loved with sauerkraut balls! I’d never had anything like those but would definitely order them again next time. Highly recommended spot!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Please follow us on Facebook and Instagram at SNDTRAVELS and EATWELLTRAVELOFTEN 1.3.24 dinner Fredericksburg TX. I bet you can't find too many restaurants with a well dug in 1846 with a glass cover in the entry. Pretty cool. Diane had the seared salmon with spätzle and broccolini. The salmon was nice and tender and the caper dill sauce was a nice complement. The broccolini was cooked perfect and had great flavor. I had the Bavarian goulash. The beef was good and tender and the red wine tomato sauce was tasty. Overall it was delicious. Recommended two thumbs-up 👍 👌 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My husband (then-boyfriend) was stationed in Germany for 4 years and I visited a few months one summer and I really loved the food in Germany. The food here at Altdorf Biergarten was the most authentic of the 3 places we tried this weekend. The weinerschnitzel was so crispy and tender at the same time. The flavor of the cabbage was not overwhelming. Everything was a great balance. This place also had the best spaetzel of the three places. Service wasn’t bad at all, but it could have been better. There were no utensils or salt/pepper at our table when they brought our food. We ordered desert to-go and they didn’t include utensil either. Nonetheless, I’d come here again for sure. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $30–50 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Wienerschnitzel

What a fantastic experience. The food was absolutely delicious, the peach old fashioned was amazing! The music and atmosphere was so relaxing and our server Aaron was spot on with recommendations (esp the old fashioned). He was friendly, attentive and professional. This will be our go to in Fredericksburg for authentic German food! Service Dine in Meal type Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Jagerschnitzel

Oh my gosh, what a gem we found! I hadn't had any German food in years and I had a massive craving. Boy am I glad we found this place. Not only is it so cool with its beautiful historical building and preserving of the well that you can look down into, but also the food is amazing. Our server was even german! We enjoyed every bite. Best caprese I've ever had--the roasted garlic was an unexpected delicious touch. Very reasonable prices too. Great value. We will be back!
