This was my fifth time to Abe's Place. The food and drink has always been appetizing and that is why I return. After work on Thursday (2/29/24) my husband and I went to get an early dinner. Got a booth, was greeted promptly, then ordered a drink (Rum Runner) and our entrees. When the drink arrived the waiter asked to see my ID. He was serious. *red flag #1 ~ I'm 58. And have NEVER been asked for my identification here at Abe's Place before. *red flag #2 ~ When this waiter kept coming back repeatedly he made a point of positioning his body next to me, but square on to my husband. It was weird and uncomfortable. After the upteenth revisit my husband also said something about it. It was creepy. This was a very strange encounter at Abe's Place and I hope in the future we do not encounter such blatant behavior from a server again. My friends stop at the Abe's many times after golf. The beverages are cold, and any drink on the happy hour menu is just $3.25. The chicken noodle soup tastes as I remember my Grandma's. Always a good choice for a light lunch. The fresh wings are delicious. They can be ordered breaded or tossed in your favorite sauce or no sauce at all. If you prefer boneless wings, the fresh chicken breast pieces are on the menu, too. I've also enjoyed their 1/2# burgers (fresh, never frozen), the Fish & Chips, and the Steak Philly (ask for jalapeños to be added, yum). This is a friendly family restaurant.
