Food is always great! Service is 50/50. Some visits are wonderful, and the staff is friendly and helpful, and other times, a woman in particular who is rude when we come in. But we do our best to avoid her.

Update: I want to believe they were having an off day, however service was taking extremely long, products were not cooked well; overcooked or simply not as fresh as should be. The octopus on a molcajete del Mar was frozen dry. Not even the texture was there much less the flavor. While a molcajete del Mar seems appealing Molcajetes main appeal is for hot food, I expected something special but it was lacking seasoning,flavor and most of all freshness on octopus; it's suppose to have oysters according to the menu but there were none. Their meats molcajete is good but this seemed more like an overpriced coktel or campechana. The shrimp rellenos were cooked dry, maybe premade and cooked once again, the rice was hard maybe from dryness ,not completely cooked or reheated too many times. They were struggling as far as service with almost full house, but service and teamwork seems flawed. I mention these things so you can improve and put forth the effort to provide better experience for customers. I rarely go on weekend and had only been during week for brunch and they seemed to handle the crowd well earlier in the day on Saturday. Not sure what's going on but sure hope they're able to iron the details and be able to handle the crowds much better. Old review: This place is great value, delicious, their service has always been good and gotten better. While I've tried various items from carne asada tacos, to Costello, to fajitas lately at least the last 2 times I had their tacos de barbacoa. I was about to order a molcajete which seem to be new items on the menu however I recalled the tacos were to die for and wanted to confirm if they're spectacular or they had a fluke. The tacos ended tasting better than I recall. They are so soft and juicy without drowning and sogging the tortilla to point it breaks. The only weakness is the tortilla however since they heat them up properly its a split second I get a whiff of scent they give off. If not heated properly I could not eat type of tortillas. The calamari was pretty good but not as tasty as previous time. This may have been prebatterred or store bought but still delicious. The barbacoa dish you can get 3 tacos beans and rice or 4 tacos and no beans no rice. Since I had the calamari I opted for the 4 tacos. Those tacos were AMAZING!

Wow! Great service, great atmosphere, and Amazing Food! Huge portions, you'll want to share. Salsas are on point. Very reasonable prices for the amount. I totally recommend this place. The food was wonderful. We had not so good serves, hard to communicate with server. The prices have went way up, we took 3 adults and a child spent over 80.00 so not a value of any sorts but the food is still fire!! This is the place to go if you want truly authentic food. The selection is amazing and we love this place!! We will continue to eat here and recommend them to everyone we know (and even some we don't)! 3.75 🌟 I had the big combination. Alot of food. To me was just average not much flavor or seasoning. Tortilla chips and taco shell was stale. The older lady with pony tail that other reviews are talking about. You can tell she's trying so hard to be nice with fake smile but she is grumpy. Glad I tried but pry never be back. My family loves this restaurant! We do our own Mexican home-cooking, but in many cases, the family would prefer many of the dishes from El Taco Loco versus what we make at home. :-) The refried beans are beyond delicious (the are not vegetarian) and my daughter and her roommate use to drive all the way from Greeley just for a takeout order of the beans! You can easily call the restaurant and order food for pickup which is a great option and especially great during the COVID-19 pandemic (my husband picks up a dinner for breakfast some mornings during the work week as early as 0800). The one negative I have is that I'm a vegetarian and there is not a good selection for me.

I enjoy the food, but as i sit here waiting for my to go order, a couple came in, waited for about 5 minutes to be seated, 2 people, and they are told there will be a wait. Even though there are tables available, the hostesses response "those are reserved for larger parties", they ended up leaving... i see 2 empty booth tables which could have accommodated the couple and at least 6 other tables in the "large group" area, i then see another couple, again 2 people, come in shortly after them, only to be seated at one of those tables for the "larger groups"....this is not customer service, very disappointed in you Taco Loco ll
